First top-10 and best among the ASCARs

Warneton In his third attended meeting and in the last round of the season Miguel Gomes managed to get his first top-10 and to be the best among ASCARs after the 3 races.

Being the driver that attended less events during the season Miguel started the first race in the pole postion due to the reverted grid according to the series points table. Miguel was able to hold on the lead for several laps altough the car setup was too loose for the slippery conditions of the track due to the rain in the day before. While trying hard to keep the lead Miguel end up making a spin about halfwary in the first race. Miguel end up in the 10th position in the action packed race one and was the best of the ASCARs.

In the second race Miguel started in third but in the start was able to get into second and battle for the lead with his teammate Lee Madox for several laps.

But the differences between the ASCARS and the CAMSOs were evident once again and both Lee and Miguel were caught by the rest of the CAMSOS before the end of the race. While trying to recover and fight the CAMSOS Miguel and his teammate Paul Bowman got together and both spun. Not being able to restart the enging Miguel had to abandon this second race.

In the third race Miguel started from third once again but with the track even more slippery the more stable CAMSOS soon got into the lead. Gomes got the 11th place in this last race of the season and was once again the best of the ASCARs.

Being much more competitive the British team was happy with Miguel's performance.

The series champion ends up being decided in the very last race and the British driver Gary Ellis got the first title of the new European Late Model Series.
