Positive debut in the European Late Model Series

Miguel did his first ever oval races and also the debut in the new European Late Model Series at Ipswich in the Foxhall International Raceway.Although several mechanical problems in Revolution Racing's #46 Chevrolet Miguel had a positive debut and was able to run in the top-3 for several laps in the last 2 races of the 3 race event.
The first signs of problems happened during practice. Miguel finished the 30 minute session with alarming overheating problems in his engine.

In the first laps of the first race Miguel and British driver Shane Brereton got together coming of turn 4. The Englishman saw the black flag for the maneuver and was forced to abandon the race by the series organization. After this incident Miguel had to abandon too with ignition problems that prevented his engine to restart.
In the second race Miguel was able to stay in the top-3 for a while and charging for second place but end up with overheating problems in 12th place of the 17 car field.
The last race was run at night under the lights and for Miguel went just the same as the second one, being able to stay in the top-3 for a while to end up 12th place with more over heating and ignition problems.
Despite the mechanical problems Gomes showed he can be competitive and fight for the top positions and his performance was appreciated by the British team.
Miguel will be back in action on September 27th at Warneton, Belgium.
